Built to the WebMCP spec
The runtime follows the specification text and Chrome’s guidance for secure tools during the origin trial.
Metadata budgets
Tool names stay under 30 characters, descriptions under 500, and parameter descriptions under 150. Registration rejects anything larger.
Bounded results
Every result is capped at 1,500 characters. Oversized output becomes a structured, retryable truncation that tells the agent how to narrow the call.
Standard annotations
Read-only tools carry readOnlyHint. Anything that returns page, CMS, chat, or catalog content carries untrustedContentHint.
Declarative coexistence
Native forms that declare toolname are left to Chrome’s declarative API. Registration is abortable, so a republish cleanly replaces the previous tool set.
What agents cannot do on their own
Every tool is scoped. The risky steps stay with the person at the keyboard.
Card or bank details
Payment fields are not read or written by AgentReady tools. Checkout is handed to the hosted page.
Passwords and one-time codes
Authentication fields are detected and refused, including OTP and two-factor prompts.
Final purchase confirmation
Agents can prepare an order. Only you can confirm and pay.
Sensitive form submission
Forms with blocked fields are inspected but never submitted by an agent.

Questions
Which browsers support WebMCP?
WebMCP ships in Chrome 149 and newer as an origin trial. Agents can also reach this page through the ChatGPT desktop app’s built-in browser. Other visitors see the same site as before, and the tools stay invisible to them.
Does it change how my site looks?
No. AgentReady adds one script through Framer Custom Code. Your layout, CMS and forms stay exactly as they are.
What can an agent do without asking me?
Read content, navigate, and prefill forms. Anything that sends data, pays, or authenticates waits for a person.
Is it open source?
Yes. The plugin, the runtime and the Cloudflare gateway are MIT licensed on GitHub.
How do I install it?
Open the Plugins panel in Framer, search for AgentReady on the Marketplace, and add it to your project. The source is also on GitHub if you prefer to run it as a development plugin.
Which Framer plan do I need?
Any plan can run the tools. On the free framer.website plan the WebMCP response headers cannot be set. For strict conformance, route a custom domain through the included Cloudflare Worker.
Do I need Cloudflare or Shopify?
No. Direct mode runs entirely in Framer Custom Code. Cloudflare adds the same-origin /mcp gateway, agent payments, and paid crawling. Shopify adds seven commerce tools; this demo has a development store connected.
Is the checkout in the playground real?
No. It shows how an agent prepares an order and stops before payment. Nothing is charged and no card details are requested.
What data is recorded?
Anonymous per-tool metrics only. Prompts, chat text, form values, tool arguments, payment data, and response bodies are not recorded.
